1920's Bungalow, Sacramento

In one of Sacramento's most-desirable neighborhoods, this potential tear-down was transformed into a classic Craftsman home and was given a second chance to shine with a major remodel. This home received a custom kitchen and butler's pantry with granite countertops, a natural stone backsplash, custom-glazed cabinetry, a hand-hammered copper apron sink and island sink as well as a decorative copper panel with pot filler behind the stainless steel commercial cooktop, in addition to a new luxurious master suite, family room and dining room, all of the existing rooms were revived with exquisite Craftsman detail for a luxurious, charming European feel.

New Custom Home, Sutter County

Completed 12/09. 10,000 sq. ft. custom home on 40 acres. Throughout the house, we brought our client's visions to life by creating authentically-detailed themed rooms such as beach, safari, and lodge bathrooms, garden room with fountain, hobby room, pet room, a man-cave, a Savannah-style veranda overlooking private lake, theatre, and game room. Our clients wanted a personalized entry medallion that subtly integrates their initials into the design. Creative Eye Design was able to capture their vision and the medallion is now proudly displayed in their grand entryway.

Craftsman Second Story Addition, E Sacramento

This 1100sf 1950's single-story 2 br-1 ba home located in a tree-lined East Sacramento neighborhood was transformed into a 2400sf, 2-story Craftsman bungalow. Fine craftsmanship and attention to detail make this a true Craftsman home inside and out. The existing kitchen, two bedrooms and living room were given a complete makeover; the two bedrooms are now a guest room and office. A new dining room, mud room, and laundry room were added to the first floor, creating a spacious floorplan. The pass-through window and bar counter between the kitchen and dining room will be perfect for entertaining guests in the dining room or enjoying a family barbecue. The new 2nd floor includes a spacious master suite with spa bath, a bonus room, and second bedroom with bath.

Cottage-Style Kitchen Remodel, Rocklin, CA

Before, the rooms were small and dark. By removing two walls, we brought abundant natural light into this new, open floorplan. By installing Formica® countertops and laminate flooring, we achieved a high-end look on a tight budget. A beadboard backsplash, cup handles and water glass-front cabinet doors give this kitchen the cottage look our client was after. The pendant globes are designed to be changed as easily as screwing in a lightbulb!

Kitchen and Bath Remodel, Auburn

This kitchen's flow was improved with the addition of a center island and seating for guests. The custom dark-stained cabinetry was topped with a cream-colored granite. Energy Star appliances, a pot filler, Fireclay sinks, pull-out spice racks integrated into the range towers, under counter wine storage, and custom beams replacing the existing fluorescent ceiling panel, give this kitchen a high-end, rustic feel, anchored by custom distressed beams.

Craftsman-Style Addition, Meadow Vista

We designed and are building a new guest quarter suite with bathroom. The bedroom will have a vaulted ceiling with an exposed beam. We are adding a hallway leading from the garage to the main house so that our clients are not exposed to bad weather when walking between the two structures. We are also continuing the deck, railing and stone wall along the front of the addition to blend the old with the new so that the addition looks original to the house.
Instead of hauling the trees away from the site, we milled them onsite; they will be used to make large barn doors for the firewood shed at the rear of the property. Wood that was too small to mill was stacked neatly in the shed for firewood.

Mid-Century Modern Green Kitchen Remodel
Granite Bay

This kitchen received a contemporary green makeover, while staying true to this Streng Brothers' mid-century modern architecture. The new design allows for additional cabinetry and wine storage along the exterior wall. A peninsula was topped with a locally-produced concrete countertop, while CaesarStone quartz was installed on the main countertops giving this kitchen a modern flair. Energy Star appliances and cross-cut bamboo cabinets made from PureBond plywood contribute to the sustainable sensibility.

Kitchen & Bath Remodel, Placerville

Custom remodel of kitchen and two bathrooms in 30 year old ranch-style home in the Sierra foothills. Custom cabinetry, granite countertops, stainless steel Energy Star appliances. Removed and framed new walls to open up entry area to allow for new pantry in kitchen. New doors, painting, crown and base throughout. Upgraded to 1.28gpf Toto Double Cyclone WaterSense toilets. Florescent lighting with occupancy sensors. New HVAC system. New hardwood flooring in living areas and carpet in bedrooms and office, all flooring certified Green Label Plus. Installing a Velux sun tunnel in a dark laundry room created a bright, sunny room by bringing in natural daylight.

50's Ranch-Style Remodel, Rancho Murietta

Remodel of 30-year old single-story house in Rancho Murieta, CA.
A structural wall was removed to allow for a large island with seating for seven for easy entertaining. The kitchen now opens to a large family room with vaulted ceiling. Under cabinet lighting illuminates the 1-inch recycled mosaic tile and granite countertops. In addition, all existing oak cabinetry was updated to match the kitchen cabinetry throughout the house. Beautiful hand-scraped flooring was also installed throughout the house.

Antigua Door Company manufactures and sells some of the highest-quality and most stylish wood doors in the world. Creative Eye Design-Build designed and built their Danville retail store with the same quality and style, including a unique wine cellar with natural stone and American Clay, and of course, a magnificent set of Antigua Doors.

Arden Ranch-Style Remodel

Remodel of a '50s single-story, ranch-style home in Sacramento, California. Opening up the wall between the small kitchen and livingroom creates an open area for cooking and entertaining – the addition of a large island with granite countertops, combined with Caeserstone countertops give the kitchen a modern, sophisticated look. Custom cabinetry includes a recycling center, stainless steel corner pullouts and a pantry to maximize storage.
